Der hintere Tiergarten gehört zum Biosphärenresavat Mittlere Elbe und UNESCO Weltkulturerbe Dessau Wörlitzer Gartenreich.
Im 18. Jahrhundert wurde der Tiergarten als fürstlicher Wildpark in die Gesamtgestaltung einbezogen. Im Jahre 1649 zogen sich schon 3 Alleen ausgehend vom Dessauer Schloß durch den Tiergarten.
Die Johnitzer Mulde Teilt den Tiergarten in den vorderen und hinteren Teil.

The rear Tiergarten belongs to Biosphärenresavat Middle Elbe and UNESCO World Heritage Site Dessau Wörlitz.
