The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church is the the sole survivor of seven churches that once ministered to the populace of Centralia. Due to the long-burning coal seam fire that has seen the demolition of all but a few remaining buildings, it is now the sole remaining church in Centralia.

Its location just outside the fire-induced exclusion zone has spared it the fate of practically everything else.

It was completed in 1912. It received a facelift in the 1990's. Services are still conducted weekly. The church does allow visitors, both inside and out. Best to call ahead, if that is on your agenda.
