In Acton, within the Acton Arboretum, are trails with boardwalks among mostly deciduous woods and wetlands.

The Acton Arboretum is located along Mass. Route 27, about a half mile north of Mass. Route 2 and south of the town center. There is a sign for the arboretum at the intersection with Taylor Street. Take Taylor Street and drive a short distance to the parking lot on the left.

There is a map at a nearby kiosk that shows the trails in the arboretum. All of the boardwalks are located along the Main Loop Trail, in yellow. Two of them are in a smaller circle close to this parking lot. One of them goes through a red maple swamp. The other is by a brook and small pond. The third one is at the far south end and goes through a bog (didn't get to go that far). The waymark is located at the western end of one of the boardwalks.
