Living New Deal
In 1935, the Works Progress Administration put men to work renovating the structure. An exterior stair was added on the north side, a two-story addition was added on the south side, and various interior rooms were changed. The the clock tower was re-designed and the brick exterior was covered with stucco changing the look of the courthouse to a Moderne style.
