"This new sculpture objectifies color in the real space giving us a way to interact with the color "blue". The angles and spaces of the sculpture, painted blue, capture a variety of light and shadow situations and reflections from both the ground and the sky. Hashimoto sees this outdoor sculpture as a conductor for sunlight with the blues of many surfaces creating a connection to the sky and the implications of the Earth and existence. Created in honor and memory of Joann Nelson (Staten Island, NY) aesthete, artist, and textile designer."
