Réjean Gadoury was the founder of the Auberge de la Montagne Coupée.

The inscription reads:

"Réjean Gadoury, un homme, un rêve, un héritage... / Du haut de cette splendide montagne, nous pouvons sentir sa présence ou, à tout le moins, prendre conscience de tous les sacrifices que cet homme exceptionnel a dû faire pour nous permettre de profiter de ce coin de ciel! / Cet homme visionnaire a donné le meilleur de lui-même, en compagnie de sa complice de tous les jours, sa Dame Simone, afin de réaliser son rêve de construire un havre de paix au sommet de ce magnifique site naturel; un vrai paradis qu'il souhaitait partager avec le monde entier. Il a travaillé avec acharnement durant toute sa vie, sans jamais baisser les bras lorsque des embûches se dressaient devant lui et ce, tout en demeurant un homme accessible, juste, bon et dévoué à sa famille et aux êtres qui lui étaient chers. Malgré ses nombreuses occupations, il s'est généreusement impliqué dans le développement touristique de sa région Lanaudière, région qui lui en sera éternellement reconnaissante car il lui aura permis d'acquérir une certaine notoriété jusqu'alors presque inexistante. / Monsieur Gadoury était un homme chaleureux et accueillant; il a toujours considéré sa clientèle comme si c'était de la famille en visite! Pas surprenant que tous se sentaient comme chez eux en sa présence! Il est donc facile d'affirmer qu'en plus d'être un site exceptionnel, la Montagne Coupée c'est "Réjean Gadoury"; sans lui, jamais celle-ci n'aurait le cachet et la chaleur qu'on lui connaît aujourd'hui. / Ses cendres reposent ici, son âme nous enveloppe et son amour demeure omniprésent dans le coeur de tous ceux et celles qui ont eu l'honneur de le côtoyer! / Du haut de sa Montagne Coupée, il continue assurément de veiller sur eux et de les protéger! "Réjean Gadoury, a man, a dream, a legacy ... / From this splendid mountain, we can feel his presence, or at least be aware of all the sacrifices that this exceptional man had to do to enable us to enjoy this corner of heaven! / This visionary man gave the best of himself, with his everyday accomplice, his Lady Simone, to realize his dream of building a peaceful haven at the top of this beautiful natural site; a paradise that he wished to share with the world. He worked hard all his life, never giving up when obstacles arose before him and, while remaining an accessible man, just, good and devoted to his family and loved ones. Despite his many occupations, he was generously involved in the tourist development of the region Lanaudière, region that will be eternally grateful to him because he has enabled the area to gain notoriety that was almost nonexistent before. / Mr. Gadoury was a warm and welcoming man; he has always considered his clients as if they were visiting family! No wonder everyone felt at home in his presence! It is easy to say that besides being an exceptional site, the Montagne Coupée is "Réjean Gadoury"; without him, it never would have the character and warmth it has today. / His ashes rest here, his soul envelops us and his love is still omnipresent in the hearts of all those who had the honor of working with him! / From his Montagne Coupée, he surely continues to watch them and protect them!
