"Located between Route 7 and the Susquehanna River at 1171 Conklin Road, Schnurbusch Park is the largest park in the Town of Conklin. Named after long-time Youth Commissioner Leo Schnurbusch, the park is home to beautifully groomed sports fields, a playground, sand volleyball, basketball and wall ball facilities, and the Walter Ayres Municipal Pool.
The pool is open daily from approximately the second weekend in June until the last week of August, and swimming lessons are offered through the YMCA.
There are three pavilions which are available to be rented for social events and a pretty spot along the river with benches for reading or conversation. Exercise stations are located near the pool area and many people enjoy walking the park road for exercise.
On Wednesday evenings during the summer, the Town offers a free Concert in the Park series with a variety of musical performances. On the final evening of the Concert series, the Town hosts a Grand Finale Picnic with the Town providing hamburgers and hot dogs and other participants bringing a dish to share. Schnurbusch Park is a hub of activity in Conklin."
