Nice lake located on the east edge of Huron, SD. Created by damming up a small creek prior to entering the James River. Elevation 1251

This unique little lake went through an extensive transformation a number of years ago.
One time they tried to drain it and when they pulled the plug to drain the lake, they got a torrential downpour of rain and foiled their efforts.
Today the lake has a miniature golf course nearby. Also a small eatery with SDSU ice cream served.
The beach area has been drastically improved and the small island was made accessible by a bridge. There are shelters and benches on the island now.
While the lake is fairly shallow, it affords nice recreation for small boats and swimmers. There is fishing for youngsters and oldsters alike.
