"Ohlone people moved with the seasons to gather nuts and berries of to hunt and trap game, fish and seafood. They left their village each fall to collect acorns, an important food staple, from the oak woodlands of Big Basin. These depressions in the stone, used as mortars, have a story to tell of how the Olhone spent their time here."
