The ADK Loj is a not-for profit endeavor run by the Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK). It offers a variety of experiences, from the most primitive (lean to site) to the most pampered (hotel style rooms at the Loj).

While camping at one their 40 tent camping sites, I saw the menu posted for the meal that being offered in their dining room that evening.
There is swimming canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding and just lounging in the Adirondack chairs along the beach available at Heart Lake. The ADK club offers intrepretive nature walks twice a day, Wednesday through Sunday, and a daily guided hike up Mount Jo.
What you can't do here is RV camp (nothing bigger than a pop-up trailer) nod there are no electric hookups. There are flush toilets, however, and warm showers. And lots of unplugged time around the campfire. Quiet hours run from 10 PM to 7 AM so those camping between High Peak hikes can get plenty of rest.
The ADK Visitor Center is located on the ADK Loj property, along with an extensive parking lot to accommodate all the day hikers that seek to climb the many High Peaks accessible from the trailhead here. At the Visitors Center, hikers can purchase all manner of hiking gear, maps and guidebooks, and can rent bear canisters in which to protect their food stores at night from raids by local black bear. The staff at the visitors center are very helpful regarding trail conditions and other helpful information on what to expect out on the trail!
