The church St. Martin and St. Serverus has been build near a former Roman castle. The first building is said to be constructed in the 7th century. The western part was build in the 10th century and it has been completed in 12th and 13 century. Its architectur is typical for the Trierer style and is a mixture between Roman and Gothic style.
On the west-side there is a twin-tower with a height of 34m. With this height and the placement of the church on a hill makes it a good orientation point in the area arounf Münstermaifeld.
The reliques of Severus from Ravenna are placed inside the cathedral. In addition to a picture of St. Christophorus with a height of 8m and a epith you find an altar in the church which is a laborius woodcraft.
The organ of the church has been build by the famous organ-maker-family Stumm at the beginning of the 18th century.
