Statue is in Veterans Park and Athletic Center. It was dedicated on the 175th anniversary of the first military engagement of the War for Texas Independence, the Battle of Gonzales.

This Texas Soldier is a simple frontiersman with his long rifle held in the crook of his right arm. He is wearing a hat and his face is clean shaven. He has on a leather vest of a long sleeved shirt and he is wearing pants and knee high boots. There is a powder horn and a pouch hanging on his left hip.
