The 'via algarviana' runs from Alcoutim on the Spanish border in the east to Cabo de São Vicente in the west, the upper map on this info board showing the route in outline, the lower map the section currently being walked in detail. Here GR13 is shown running westwards from Monchique to Marmelete, a distance of 14.7km, and shown as a thin blue line starting at this board and going through Garganta, Fontinha de Fóia, Pegões, and having skirted the Fóia going over Madrinha.
For the 'Pedestrian Trail of the Waterfalls', 'Percurso Pedestre das Cascatas', the track is PR5 MCQ, some 17km long, hard going and shown as a figure-of-eight loop starting and ending here in the eastern loop. Heading east the route passes Pegões, turns north past Cascalho dos Fiades, north-west to Cimalhadas from where the eastern loop can be completed by heading south to the start point. Otherwise head west at Cruz da Fóia to Lamateiros for the western loop, anti-clockwise through Choça, Chilrão, to the road at Pé do Frio de Cime. Head east through Porta da Horta, north-east to rejoin the link route at Lamateiros, retrace the trail to Penedo do Buraco and go south to the start.
There is also masses of information regarding the surroundings, its history, the natural history, heights of surrounding peaks, and some famous trees, amongst a great deal more.
The wording is in both Portuguese and English.
There is a separate information board next to this one which described the local geology and a trail, Trail 2: Fóia and the surrounding area, which can be followed to see the types of rock described. Again the text is in both Portuguese and English.
