About the Fort Worth Sister Cities Program: (visit link)

Fort Worth Sister Cities International, a 501c3 nonprofit, is the only organization dedicated solely to promoting Fort Worth globally and enriching our community through international education, exchange and commerce. We provide a world of opportunities for our city leaders, citizens, educators, students and businesses alike.

Since 1985, the Fort Worth Sister Cities organization has been in the forefront of Sister Cities’ leadership, recognized nationally and internationally for its far-reaching, innovative model programs. Its continuously expanding international network now includes eight sister cities.

As the 16th-largest city in the United States – and one of the fastest-growing – Fort Worth must expand its global perspective to sustain success. Forming international relationships, fostering new business connections and promoting tourism and cultural understanding are vital to seizing opportunities and overcoming challenges in this global era.

Delivering a big impact in an increasingly smaller world.

Every city larger than Fort Worth has a Sister Cities program – and none are more active or effective than ours. We manage the City of Fort Worth’s eight sister city relationships around the world – from Nagaoka, Japan, to Toluca, Mexico. We orchestrate internationally recognized inbound and outbound exchange programs; provide essential instruction for protocol and diplomacy; produce unparalleled youth and educator programs; and conduct trade missions to foster economic development and mutual respect. In an increasingly smaller world, Fort Worth Sister Cities plays a huge role in enhancing the image of our city abroad – helping to improve the lives of our citizens and enhance global opportunities for all.

The Member’s Circle: spotlighting Fort Worth on the global stage.

Led by a dedicated board of directors and with the help of more than 2,000 volunteers a year, Fort Worth Sister Cities has a long history of accomplishment – but we want to achieve more.

Our goals include:

Involve more students providing them with a global education
Increase scholarships for disadvantaged youth
Involve more citizens through educational opportunities and hosting
Expand international relationships to support economic development
Establish a virtual Center for Global Relations
Protocol services
Corporate relocation services
Database of international resources for travel and business
Diplomacy education

Funding and in-kind support from the City of Fort Worth play a key role in our mission, but most of our work is made possible through the support of our Members Circle. This group is a thriving network of individuals, organizations, corporations and community leaders committed to expanding global relationships for peace and prosperity at home and abroad.

Connecting globally. Thriving locally.
