At the end of the northeast sidewalk leading into the office building is an information kiosk, on which is a map which covers the Republic Ranger District and the Colville National Forest. Centered in the map is this You Are Here marker.

The first ranger station here in Republic was built by the CCC in 1933. It was a small log building which, in the 1970s, was moved to South Clark Avenue to serve as the city hall, which, with additions, it continues to do today. At that time a new and larger office building was built in its place.

More than just an office, this is a complex, the storage location for all the equipment and vehicles which are used in the management of the Republic Ranger District.
