Along Highway 6, the Slocan Valley Highway, Fomi's is a little family operated bakery about one and a half kilometres north of the little village of Winlaw.

Winlaw offers two places for the traveler to eat, a little restaurant right in town, and Fomi's Bakery, north of town. Everything in the bakery is made on site and they have a large variety of baked goodies on offer at any given time, much of it European and Russian style pastry. It the bakery smell inside doesn't do it, several varieties of bread and a lot of sweet treats on display will get one salivating. In the front of the bakery is a sit down eating area and, as well, there is an outside area with picnic tables for alfresco munching, surrounded by flowers and large shade trees.
One of the lunch treats offered is "The best Chicken Burger in Winlaw". B tried one for lunch and agreed - they really are good!!! The rest of the treats must be pretty good, too, as the place was pretty busy and this was on a Wednesday afternoon. Even noticed a car with Montana plates in the parking lot.
