The mirador is on a high point just to the south-east of the town centre and forms the focal point of a grand landscaping scheme which includes a 'canal' with fountains and a bridge, a large gently-sloped pool, and a promenade area. There are seats, terraces for plants, and a series of stone arches and it is well signed from the centre.
