O.T. Bassett Tower was commissioned by Charles N. Bassett, President of State National Bank, at a cost of approximately $500,000 in 1929. Architect Henry C. Trost of Trost & Trost designed the 15-story skyscraper, which was the tallest structure in El Paso at the time. The building was constructed by R. E. McKee. The building is listed on the National Register of Historical Buildings and is part of a National Historic District.
