Twin sphinxes guard the entrance to the Lee Lockwood Scottish Rite Library and Museum.

The sphinxes were copied from a design on the Supreme Council Building in Washington, D.C. The sculpture was presented as a gift in 1966 from the El Paso Scottish Rite Bodies. The sculpture was kept in storage from 1966 until May 1968 and was dedicated upon completion of the building.
