The viaduct is part of SR 116 also known as the George Washington Highway. The Stillwater Viaduct crosses the Blackstone River.

At 8.2 m. is the junction with the Washington Highway which, when the Ashton viaduct over the Blackstone River (see Tour 4C), is completed, will make an important northeast to southwest route through the State.

The Ashton viaduct consisted of three bridges. The one pictured here and referred to in the AGS, is known as the Stillwater Viaduct. It was constructed between 1932 and 1933. and is the smallest of the three. It was rehabilitated in 2012.
