The first skyscraper in the City of London and, at 600ft, it's still the tallest in central London, though the fifth tallest in the city as a whole. Tower 42 was originally built for National Westminster Bank between 1971 and 1979 and the 'NatWest Tower' name has stuck. Seen from a bird's eye view the top looks like the NatWest logo. It's not just an office block, Gary Rhodes' famous Rhodes Twenty Four restaurant is situated, naturally enough, on the 24th floor. Vertigo 42 presents an alternative dining option at the loftier 42nd floor, offering champagne and oysters as well as some fantastic views across the city.
