Opened in 2014, the National September 11 Memorial Museum is located under the original site of the World Trade Center, in the original foundation of the towers. It holds some of the most impressive and saddened artifacts of that fateful day.

The coordinates are for the museum entrance, but the actual museum is below street level underneath the fountain of the reflecting pools. Inside, photos of all the victims of 9/11 are shown including the World Trace Center bombing in 1996 which killed six people. Also inside, are areas where photos are not allowed. In these areas are sensitive and graphic images and personal property of those who perished including windows, seat belts, and food carts onboard the aircraft that hit the towers and clothing and jewelry of those who have died in the attack. Tissues are provided in these sensitive areas.
Free tickets of limited amounts are available for the public on Tuesday after 5. Get there early because I got one of the last ones at 5:15 when I visited on June 28, 2016.
