This little truss bridge is now an orphan, having been abandoned to fend for itself in the wild with the realignment of Highway 37 and the construction of a much larger and higher new bridge over the Tobacco River.

Fortunately, the locals have found it a fine candidate for repurposing and have incorporated it into the Pacific Northwest Trail. Though not an integral part of the Trail, it affords an access point across the river for those who find themselves stranded on the wrong side. The Pacific Northwest Trail is a 1200 mile long trail winding its way from the continental divide to the Pacific Ocean.

The bridge served the highway way back when it was more a road than a highway an untold number of years ago. Single lane, it is about 80 feet long and of quite light construction.
Trail Name: Pacific Northwest Trail

Approximate Length of Bridge: 80

Obstacle: Tobacco River
