Frank Willie Habel was the son of Joseph and Martha Fizer Habel and was born about 1864. (Sources are not in agreement as to his birth year.) He married Emma Mealer in Dallas in July 1893.
Frank was a member of the Painters' Union and of the Woodmen of the World. He was prominent in local labor circles and was a national organizer of the American Federation of Labor. He was also a candidate for alderman and also for county commissioner shortly before his death.
Following funeral services at Habel's home, services were held at the cemetery by the Woodmen of the World and the Painters' Union. Pallbearers were members of those organizations.
