"Bernie Sanders to hold a rally at Colton Hall in Monterey.
Nick Rahaim May 27, 2016
While California often sees presidential candidates come to the state to secure funds, with underdog Senator Bernie Sanders staying competitive late in the race for the Democratic nomination, both he and Hillary Clinton are touring the state attempting to secure votes.
Sanders, an independent senator from Vermont, will give his stump speech Tuesday, May 31 on the lawn in front of Colton Hall in Monterey at 7pm.
The rally will likely bring more than 2,000 people to Monterey, says City Manager Mike McCarthy, who is in talks with the Sanders campaign to coordinate security and logistics.
The Sanders rally comes a week after former Secretary of State and Democratic frontrunner Clinton appeared at a campaign rally at Hartnell College in Salinas on May 27."
