Eleven miles north of Jackson Meadows. 1 1/2 miles west from the post office and town at Sierra City. Most hikers travel south to north because snow in the north comes later? Locals may hike in stretches.

Part of the PCT from the California border to Canada. 3,000 miles? +/- Elevation is 5,000 ft in the valley. Trail is mostly on ridge but drops to cross the Yuba River. trail camp at Wild Plum Creek.
Going north, hikers travel along the ridge to Graeagle.

From the south, one passes through the Granite Chief Wilderness, Webber Lake/ Jackson Meadows/ Sierra City/ north to Lassen volcanic area, the Oregon border.
