DE: Heilig-Kreuz-Kapelle der Familie von Meurers
Erbaut 1707 von Marcus Henricus von Meurers und seiner Ehefrau Maria Christina Koellers neben der St. Viktor-Kirche. Die Heilig-Kreuz-Kapelle war die Ruhestätte der Schultheißenfamile „von Meurers" (Schultheiß: Bürgermeis-ter und Richter der niederen Gerichtsbarkeit). Über dem Portal der Kapelle steht die Plastik der Heiligen Helena, die Patronin der Kreuzritter. Sie dokumentiert die Zugehörigkeit der Familie zum Templer- und Johanniterorden.
EN: Holy Cross Chapel (Heilig-Kreuz-Kapelle) of the von Meurers family Built in 1707 by Marcus Henricus von Meurers and his wife Maria Christina, next to the St. Victor Church. The Holy Cross Chapel was the resting place of the mayoral family (Schultheißenfamilie ) „von Meurers" (Schultheiß = may-or and judges of the lower courts). Above the portal of the chapel is the sculpture of St. Helena, patron saint of the Crusaders. This documents the family's affiliation with the Order of the Knights Templar and the Order of St John.
