This abstract bronze sculpture is one of several pieces in the Marcy Sculpture Garden in San Diego's Balboa Park. To the poster of this waymark, the sculpture resembles the outer shell of a typical Madonna and child sculpture. The Smithsonian Inventory doesn't attempt to describe the work.
The artist is Barbara Hepworth (1903-1975) was an English artist who is credited with helping to develop modern art.
