This route goes around Los Roques (Roque Cinchado, El Torrotito, El Burro and Roques Blancos, amongst others). The trail is completely flat at the start and then continues downwards after turning around Los Roques on the northern edge. Then you will come to a flat area known as Llano de Ucanca. During the descent and before getting to this flat area, you will be able to see the surprising outflow of lava known as La Cascada, and the pahoehoe lavas, which are convex and not very rugged. You will see this kind of very fluid lava that, when it takes on twisted shapes, is called "ropey lava".
After walking a little way over this flat area, you will pass by some dike walls formed by very viscous magmas, on your left. From here on, you will walk around the spectacular rock known as The Cathedral, an impressive phonolithic volcanic chimney, through which the lava came out and ended up solidifying before reaching the surface and visible due to the erosion that it has undergone over the years. You will then start the ascent to the starting point.
The flora that you will be able to see on this trail is very diverse and representative of Las Cañadas: brooms, "codeso", "rosalitos de cumbre", "hierbas pajoneras" and cobitty daisies. At the start of the trail, you will see cheirolophus canariensis and a cedar tree.
