05.09.2014 SINZIG. Die Beseitigung und die bestmögliche Klärung des Abwassers ist eine der wichtigsten Aufgaben des Umweltschutzes, der von den Kommunen in eigener Verantwortung wahrgenommen wird.
In Sinzig wird der Abwasserzweckverband Untere Ahr nun 25 Jahre alt. Der Geburtstag soll mit einem Tag der offenen Tür gefeiert werden.
Im Kreis Ahrweiler haben sich sechs Kommunen, nämlich Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, Bad Breisig, Remagen, Grafschaft, Altenahr und Sinzig zum Abwasserzweckverband Untere Ahr zusammengeschlossen. Verbandsvorsitzender ist Sinzigs Bürgermeister Wolfgang Kroeger. "Das ist eine Bündelung von Kompetenzen, die gleichzeitig zu Kosteneinsparungen führt", bewertet er die Effektivität der hochmodernen Kläranlage, die am Grünen Weg in Sinzig gebaut wurde.
Insgesamt über 35 Millionen Euro wurden alleine in die Verbandskläranlage investiert. Etwa die gleiche Summe noch einmal in das Leitungsnetz, das sich quer durch den Ahrkreis zieht und die einzelnen Ortskanalisationen an die Kläranlage in Sinzig anbindet.
Kroeger: "Nach der in 2000 erfolgten Inbetriebnahme der dritten Reinigungsstufe entspricht unsere Kläranlage den hohen umweltmäßigen Anforderungen ebenso wie den modernsten Kenntnissen der Technik." Das Abwasser von 80 000 Menschen fließt in die Sinziger Kläranlage. Stündlich sind es etwa eintausend Kubikmeter ungeklärtes Wasser, das in der Anlage am Grünen Weg aufbereitet wird. Bei Regentagen verdreifacht sich diese Menge in der Regel.
Insgesamt tragen 22 Mitarbeiter in Technik und Verwaltung mit großem Kontrollaufwand dafür Sorge, dass diese Anlage stets in der Lage ist, ihre vielschichtigen Aufgaben zur Klärung des Wassers zu erfüllen.
Am Samstag, 13. September, sollen nun ab 11 Uhr Interessierte Zugang zur Kläranlage und den Räumlichkeiten des Abwasserverbandes mit seinen Laboreinrichtungen, Messtechnikanlagen, Pumpstationen und Faultürmen erhalten.
Neben dem Landrat wird auch Staatssekretär Thomas Griese aus dem Umweltministerium erwartet. Die Belegschaft des Zweckverbandes hat für diesen Tag ein umfangreiches Unterhaltungsprogramm für Groß und Klein auf die Beine gestellt. (frv)
