The Honolulu Zoo is home to 905 specimens from the tropics. Komodo Dragons, orang-utans, elephants, primates, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and a variety of African animals can be seen daily.
The zoo is administered by the City & County of Honolulu through the Department of Enterprise Services. Its support agency, the Honolulu Zoo Society (HZS), provides program services for the zoo. Over 601,510 people visit the zoo annually.
The colorful mosaic depicts many of the animals housed at the Honolulu Zoo. It can be seen from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm daily. The last entry is taken at 4:30 pm. It is open every day except Christmas Day. The admission fees are: Adults 13 & over - $14.00, Children 3-12 years: $6.00.
