Bis 1803 herrschten in Ober-Erlenbach die Grafen von Ingelheim. 1765 wurde unter dem Grafen Johann Philipp von Ingelheim die Pfarrkirche St. Martin errichtet. Sie ist damit die älteste Kirche in Bad Homburg.
Die Barockkirche ist innen reich ausgestattet, z. B mit barockem Hochaltar (1697-1700) und zwei Seitenaltäre (1691-1694), die 1808 aus der Kirche des Prämonstratenserinnen-Kloster Nieder-Ilbenstadt gekauft wurden, welches 1803 säkularisiert worden war. Auch 12 Bilder des 14 Stationen umfassendes Kreuzweges stammen aus diesem Kloster.
Der Taufstein (1697) stammt noch aus der Vorgängerkirche, die seit 1160 stand.
Die Dreymann-Orgel wurde 1839/40 vom Mainzer Orgelbaumeister Bernhard Dreymann gebaut. Aie hat 1.400 Pfeifen und 22 Register.
Sie wurde letztmals in 1990 restauriert, entspricht aber noch sehr dem Original und hat ihren frühromantischem Charakter behalten.
Besichtigungen der Kirche sind zwischen 8 Uhr und Sonnenuntergang möglich; jedoch nicht während eines Gottesdienstes.
