The Museum has several displays exhibiting the life of the Missionaries and Native Americans of the area. The building itself is the oldest building in Santa Cruz and built by Indians over a two-year period.
This particular display exhibits a mortar and pestle as well as a basket and shell.
There is another mortar and pestle on display in one of the rooms of the building that attempts to recreate the way the rooms would have looked nearly 200 years ago.
