Branch #1 is within the Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command, consisting of 7 Districts which are divided into 15 Zones, incorporating 109 Branches. Branch #1 is in District D, Zone 9. It received its charter on May 26, 1927, while the Auxiliary received its charter on February 9, 1949. Branch #1 presently has 218 members.
In front of the branch's building is a black and grey granite veterans' memorial. On the face of the black granite centre section are inscribed the words:
Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 1 Middleton Lest We Forget In Memory Of Veterans Branch #25
The memorial refers to Branch #25, apparently a defunct branch.
