"The Waikiki-Kapahulu Public Library was designed by Lemmon, Freeth and Haines and completed in 1952. Its groundbreaking ceremony in July 1951 included David Moncrief, Jr., Alice Spalding Bowen, Father Edwin L. Souder, Thomas Maunupau, and Cyril Lemmon. Now worn around the edges, it's nevertheless still in operation, and is the first fine midcentury modern example on a whole street lined with midcentury modern cool." (visit link)
