The Manistique East Breakwater Light was constructed in 1916 and the light was lit on August 17, 1916. The Light was automated in 1969 and in 2000 the original forth order Fresnel lens was replaced with a 12" Tidelands signal optics. The light was put up for auction in 2013 and is now privately owned
