HOMER M. HADLEY
Memorial Bridge

This bridge is dedicated to Homer M. Hadley,
pioneering engineer from Seattle,
who designed and proposed
the world's first concrete bridge in 1920.
Persevering against skepticism and opposition, he saw the
first of these bridges complete here in 1940.
