The Hawaii Capital Historic District in Honolulu has been the center of government ever since the earliest days of the unified Hawaiian Kingdom.
The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places after the nearby Chinatown Historic District and Merchant Street Historic District had already been added.
Our five pictures show six contributing properties to the Hawaii Capital Historic District: 1- Hawaii State Capitol 2- Iolani Palace 3- Aliiolani Hale and the Kamehameha Statue 4- Kawaiahao Church and 5- Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew.
