If you ask us, “What was the most fun you had while in the Okanagan?”
It was early and sitting in the car drinking that first cup of Timmy’s, we noticed a decorated utility box across the street. While taking pictures, I glanced up and there was the ReStore. It was still closed and we took pictures of the outside to waymark.
Still on the hunt for a large beveled mirror and already checked out most of the local garage sales, we headed back to the Restore.
We have been in one other ReStore in Washington, however never expected such a huge store and loaded with all these cool building supplies. Included is just about everything you could possibly need to redo your home. Wiring, lighting, plumbing, doors, paint, tile and you name it. Also there was some very affordable furniture and appliances, some still in new condition.
The building looks fairly new and well organized. The staff was friendly and helpful.
After spending almost two hours in the store, we wanted to keep hunting for the next thing we wished we could take home. We will definitely be back once we relocate to the area.
Welcome to Habitat for Humanity Okanagan
Habitat for Humanity Okanagan is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit, housing organization. Habitat for Humanity’s homeownership model empowers families to invest in homeownership. Through volunteer labor, efficient management and tax-deductible donations of money and materials, Habitat for Humanity builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of homeowner (partner) families.
Habitat homes are sold to partner families with no down payment required and are financed with affordable, no-interest mortgages. Mortgage payments go into a revolving fund, which is used by affiliates to build more homes for more families in need. HFH Okanagan serves Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country, and Peachland in the beautiful Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. We also sponsor a Chapter in the nearby city of Vernon and Penticton.
