Albergen ligt te midden van de Twentse natuur. Karakteristieke houtwallen en glooiende esgronden bepalen het beeld aan met name de noordkant van het dorp, terwijl het kanaal Almelo-Nordhorn aan de zuidkant het dorp begrenst.
