NY0545 - USC&GS&SS 'F 277' BM - Klamath County, OR - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey and State Survey benchmark from 1934 in good condition. The datasheet info is adequate for station recovery with the exception that the Chiloquin railroad station no longer exists and the SPrague River Rd was re-routed south of here and is now a Forest Service Rd. The original witness post is gone. This benchmark is also listed on a topography map as 'BM 4369'. My posted coordinates should place you very close to this mark.

DESCRIBED BY OREGON GEODETIC SURVEY 1934 4.9 MI NE FROM CHILOQUIN. ABOUT 4.9 MILES NORTHEAST ALONG THE SPRAGUE RIVER ROAD FROM THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC CO. RAILROAD STATION AT CHILOQUIN, KLAMATH COUNTY, ABOUT 100 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF A ROAD LEADING NORTH TO APPLEGATE BUTTE AND KIRK, ON THE SUMMIT OF A HILL, 49 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE MAIN ROAD, AND 2 FEET WEST OF A WHITE WOODEN WITNESS POST. A STATE SURVEY STANDARD DISK, STAMPED 4369 F 277 1934 AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING ABOUT 3 INCHES ABOVE GROUND.
