"Aus dem Jahr 1521 stammt die älteste Glocke der Kirche und sie wurde dem hl. Martin geweiht. Während der Belagerung Bonns durch niederländische Truppen geht 1689 das Kloster in Flammen auf. Doch die Mönche bleiben und bauen das Kloster auf. 1751 lässt der Abt von Heisterbach vom Glockengießer Legros eine Glocke für die Kirche auf freiem Feld gießen und weiht sie den Heiligen: Sebastianus, Stephanus und Martinus.
Im Jahre 1996 erhielt das Glockengeläute seine Vollständigkeit und die 5. Glocke, die zu Ehren der hl. Anna und der hl. Hedwig geweiht wurde fand ihren Platz im 53m hohen, weit sichtbaren Kirchturm. Die St. Martinuskirche von Flerzheim bildet bis heute den Mittelpunkt des Ortes und die Menschen sind stolz auf ,,Ihren kleinen Dom". "
