I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey and State Survey benchmark from 1934 in good condition. The datasheet info is adequate for station recovery with the exception that the tree trunk mentioned was not found. I noticed the original wooden witness post lying on the ground nearby, burned from a fire that obviously came through here a number of years ago. The station now resides next to a sizeable pine tree about 10 feet SE from the station and next to the road. It's trunk is black from a fire. There is also a bearing tree and a boundary marker (carsonite post) across the road and NW from the station. This benchmark is also listed on a topography map as 'BM 4428'. My posted coordinates should place you very close to this mark.
