While American Legion Post #148 is still with us, Platt National Park is not: It was abolished by Congress in 1976 and merged with the Arbuckle Recreation Area to become the Chickasaw National Recreation Area.

Description of Memorial: The memorial is a simple bronze plaque, affixed to a rock, located in front of two flagpoles. One flag is the POW/MIA flag, while the other, of course, is that of the United States. Veterans of multiple wars are buried in this section, most of them with government-issued headstones.
