I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey and State Survey benchmark from 1934 in poor condition. It looks like this benchmark was compromised when crews layed underground cable. The post was found tilted in the ground but in good shape. There's a green utility box nearby. The datasheet info is obsolete now, since none of the landmarks exist. This benchmark is also listed on a topography map as 'BM 4288'. My posted coordinates should place you very close to this mark.

DESCRIBED BY OREGON GEODETIC SURVEY 1934 9.3 MI NW FROM SPRAGUE RIVER. ABOUT 9.3 MILES NORTHWEST ALONG THE SPRAGUE RIVER ROAD FROM THE POST OFFICE AT SPRAGUE RIVER, KLAMATH COUNTY, ABOUT 400 FEET NORTHEAST OF A GREEN BUNGALOW ON THE NORTHEAST BANK OF SPRAGUE RIVER, 45 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, ABOUT 151 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A WIRE-FENCE CORNER, 40 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE SOUTHEAST ONE OF THREE PROMINENT PINE TREES, 23 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A POWER-TRANSMISSION LINE POLE, AND 2 FEET NORTH OF A WHITE WOODEN WITNESS POST. A STATE SURVEY STANDARD DISK, STAMPED 4287 T 277 1934 AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING ABOUT 2 INCHES ABOVE GROUND.
