The sign depicts many different Naval ships and reads:
"Ships of the Pacific Fleet
San Diego, headquarters of the Eleventh Naval District, is one of the largest
and busiest U.S. Navy Ports in the world. Many of the Pacific Fleet's carriers
cruisers, destroyers, and amphibious ships are stationed here. You can see
many of the vessels shown on the right as they enter and leave the harbor.
The U.S. Coast Guard, as an element of the Department of Home;and
Security, conducts extensive operations out of San Diego."
