"Terminus of San Francisco and Alameda Rail Road. 1865-1873. A steam railroad ran 5 trains daily from here to the Alameda wharf where passengers and freight were ferried to San Francisco after merger with central pacific it was abandoned in favor of the present Southern Pacific Line."
