The Trail to Antelope and Buffalo Springs in Chickasaw National Recreation Area is a 1.2 mile loop trail through gorgeous woods along Travertine Creek, with both springs as your ultimate destination. You'll encounter this just downstream from Antelope Springs, and it will show you a depiction of one of the pond's denizens, along with some background.

Interestingly, turtle sightings are few and far between here, given the cool temperature of the water and a paucity of logs in the pond. They're around, but they tend to be along the banks.
