The McVay family owns this old station, they also own Red Rock Ranch.
Hwy 80 used to follow 1st Street through Van Horn, which is on the other side of the RR tracks from its current path along Broadway.
The McVay family opened Van Horn's first gas station on 1st Street. When the highway moved to Broadway, so did the McVay family's gas station.
I unfortunately, can not find a time frame for when the switch was made. Possibly following the 1913 flood?
