The circular dry stone corral which is the main feature of the reserve was once used to hold horses while the riders walked down to their work in the local basalt quarries on the Bombo headland. The reserve was rejuvenated by the Kiama Rotary Club to commemorate a past president & deputy Mayor of Kiama, Robert East. The reserve is maintained by Kiama Council.

There are four picnic benches & all have beautiful views.
